SMW 104 Federal Credit Union and smsGuardian™

In today’s world, a mobile device is sometimes the quickest way of contacting you so that’s why we have added another feature to protect your Visa Credit and Visa Debit Card against unauthorized activity with smsGuardian™. This feature adds another layer of security by identifying suspicious activity within minutes of a transaction, which can reduce the chance that subsequent unauthorized transactions will occur and will coincide with our existing 24/7-365 fraud monitoring system. As card usage rise, so too does fraud.
You can enroll up to ten devices by clicking here
Your mobile device must have the ability to send and receive text messages and the use of “short codes” must not be blocked. Short codes are special phone numbers, often five digits in length, which are used to send text messages from mobile device.
Third-party fees may apply for text messaging and data. Please contact your mobile device carrier for more information.
Enrollment is good for a period of one year and you will be notified via text message prior to the expiration of your smsGuardian™ account at which time you can reply the word RENEW.
Changing your mobile service provider will require you to re-enroll your mobile device in the smsGuardian™ program.
If you receive a text message and the transaction is legitimate, you do not need to reply. If the transaction is fraudulent, simply reply using the alpha-numeric code contained in the text message. Your card will be immediately blocked from further activity. You may cancel your enrollment at any time by simply texting the word STOP, which will cancel all enrollments for all associated cards for that mobile device.
Important Reminder to Keep Your Personal and Financial Information Safe
SMW 104 Federal Credit Union would like to remind our members that we DO NOT solicit personal or financial information, so NEVER respond to emails, text messages or phone calls requesting this information.
Fraudsters will use events such as large-scale breaches, which are sometimes exposed via the various media channels in an attempt to potentially obtain your personal or financial information. With that being said, keep your information safe by never opening an email or text message from an unknown sender and never open any links provided in unsolicited emails. The fraudsters can make links look like they go to one place, but actually send you to a different site.
Review your credit card and account statements as soon as you receive them to ensure all transactions were authorized by you. You may obtain a free copy of your credit report from Equifax, Experian & TransUnion each year if you ask for it. Visit www.AnnualCreditReport.com or call 877-322-8228.
